This black and white silent film is an allegorical tale of the Church and Christ’s second coming. A young peasant girl and a handsome prince are playing together in the woods. After giving her a simple, but beautiful, gift the prince leaves, telling the girl to stay behind. Suddenly another young man makes his way on the scene. He offers the young lady gifts of great value and beauty. The temptation is too great, and she accepts and follows him. Moments later the prince returns only to discover his lady gone! Meanwhile the young girl is discovering this other young man isn’t exactly what he appeared to be. Trapped by her own desires she wonders, will she ever see her prince again?
